Setting the Scene
Our afternoon tea took place in the Loggia Lounge, a light-filled haven with floor-to-ceiling windows offering picturesque garden views. The ambiance was both grand and inviting, making it an ideal spot to unwind and indulge.

The Savoury Delights
Presented on a classic three-tier stand, the savoury selection was a delightful mix of traditional and vegetarian options:
- Smoked Salmon with Cream Cheese and Chive
- Egg Mayonnaise & Rocket
- Cream Cheese & Cucumber
- Ham & Grain Mustard
- Hummus, Tomato & Cucumber
Each sandwich was freshly made, generously filled, and bursting with flavour, a true testament to the hotel’s commitment to quality.

Sweet Temptations
The sweet tier was a feast for the senses. We savoured both fruit and plain scones, served warm with clotted cream and jam. The scones were exceptional, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside.
The cake selection included:
- Moist Carrot Cake
- Refreshing Raspberry Cake
- Rich Chocolate & Coffee Cake
- Cherry Bakewell
- Delicate Macaron
Each dessert was a masterpiece, balancing sweetness and texture perfectly.
Tea Time
Complementing our treats was a diverse tea selection:
- Traditional English
- Decaf English Breakfast
- Earl Grey
- Darjeeling
- Assam
- Cranberry & Raspberry
- Lemon & Ginger
- Green Tea
- Camomile
Final Thoughts
Our afternoon at Manor of Groves was nothing short of delightful. From the elegant setting to the delectable offerings, it was an experience to remember. If you’re seeking a charming spot for afternoon tea in Essex or nearby, this hotel is a must-visit.
